What Rotate PDF does
Rotate PDF changes the saved rotation setting for all pages or a selected set. It can add 90 degrees clockwise, 180 degrees, or 90 degrees counterclockwise to each chosen page's current orientation. The result is a new PDF that should open with the corrected orientation in ordinary readers.
This is more durable than clicking a temporary rotate-view button in a desktop reader. A view control may reset when the file is reopened, while this tool writes the page rotation into the output. It does not crop the page, move its content, or automatically switch between standard paper sizes.

Practical examples
Pages 4 through 7 of a portrait report contain landscape charts that open sideways. Enter 4-7 and choose 90 degrees clockwise. Only those four pages receive the additional rotation. If they turn the wrong way, return to the unchanged original and choose counterclockwise instead.
A complete 30-page scan opens upside down. Leave the page field blank and choose 180 degrees. Applying one operation from the original is cleaner than processing the already rotated output twice, and it avoids confusion over current page rotation values.

Planning and quality checks
Review the source in a reader that shows page thumbnails and note each orientation group before making changes. A document can intentionally mix portrait text with landscape drawings, so applying one rotation to every page is not always correct. When only a few pages differ, enter their positions explicitly and compare their surrounding pages after processing.
Quality checking should include screen and print expectations. Confirm that headers remain at the intended top edge, annotations appear beside the content they describe, and landscape sheets print with the expected auto-rotation setting. If one page still appears wrong, determine whether the page rotation or the image drawn inside that page is responsible. The latter requires image editing or rescanning rather than another page-rotation command.
Do not assume pages with the same dimensions share the same orientation problem. Scanner drivers sometimes rotate only selected sheets based on detected text. Sample each section carefully, and use separate source-based runs for groups that need different directions. Record those groups before processing so a correction is not accidentally applied twice to an already repaired intermediate file.
Limitations and important details
Rotation changes page orientation in 90-degree increments only. It cannot deskew a scan by a small angle, detect text direction, straighten photographed pages, or reflow content. A page with an image that was itself captured crooked needs image or scan-correction software.
Some PDF viewers combine a page's rotation with their own display preferences, so verify the downloaded file in a fresh tab or another reader. Form widgets, annotations, printing rules, and digital signatures may behave differently after editing.
